What was the problem?
The tenders themselves. Reading one could take half a day, only to find it wasn’t a fit.
“Previously ruled out applying for E-Tenders as the process was daunting and we felt we could not compete with the larger companies who had resources and experience …”
“Half the battle is downloading the document, going through it all, and then realising, oh, that's no good to me.”
What changed?
MotorTron now puts a tender’s documents into TenderSeal first, and decides from what it gives back whether the tender is worth the time.
4 h → 20 min
Deciding if a tender was suitable used to take up to about four hours. With TenderSeal: 20 minutes.
MotorTron's own estimate, on a call in June 2026.
46 h → 6 h
On one tender, MotorTron put it at 46 hours the usual way and 6 hours with TenderSeal.
MotorTron's own estimate, from their trial report (July 2026), on an earlier version of TenderSeal.
MotorTron estimated the saving at €1,600 or more per tender application, at €40 an hour.
“It would have taken me up to about four hours to determine if a tender was suitable. Whereas I downloaded the document, put it into the system, and within 20 minutes, I was able to say, this is good. I could apply for that.”
“It has eliminated hours of work. Hours of work for me where I'm sitting with a highlighter, looking through each document, highlighting lines. It has eliminated all of that, Jim.”
“… it saw it, it found it, it pointed me back to the actual page on the tender document, which was brilliant.”
Did it miss anything?
Yes, once. On one tender, TenderSeal missed the financial and turnover criteria. Asked about them in Ask, it found them straight away and pointed to the page. It’s why we say: if the summary seems to miss something, ask.
What would MotorTron tell other small firms?
“If anybody else comes up in the forum of eTenders, I'll certainly suggest the system, because I think it's really good.”
“Tender Seal will open the doors to many SMEs and create a much more competitive procurement process.”
